HOW To Get International Passport In Nigeria

To get an international passport in Nigeria, you must complete an online application through the official Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) website. The process requires you to have a valid National Identification Number (NIN) and involves filling out the form, making a payment, and completing biometric capture at a selected passport office.
Step-by-step guide
Access the NIS Portal. Visit the official NIS website at https://portal.immigration.gov.ng. Register for an account or log in if you have an existing one.
Start the application. From the dashboard, click on "Apply for Fresh Passport". You will be required to verify your NIN by entering your date of birth.
Fill the application form. Complete the online form with your personal details, including your full name, address, and contact information.
Select passport type and processing center. Choose your preferred passport booklet size (32 or 64 pages) and validity period (5 or 10 years). Select a processing office where you will complete your biometrics.
Upload a passport photo. Your photo must be ICAO-compliant and adhere to specific guidelines, including a white background.
Make an online payment. After filling in your details, pay the passport fee online using a debit/credit card. Note that all passport application payments must be made online.
Upload supporting documents. Depending on your application type, you will need to upload supporting documents.
First-time adult applicants (18+):
Letter of identification from your local government.
Birth certificate from the National Population Commission (for those born from December 1992) or a court-endorsed age declaration.
Completed guarantor's form, sworn before a Commissioner for Oaths.
Photocopy of the guarantor's Nigerian e-passport data page.
Marriage certificate (if applicable).
Minor applicants (under 18):
Completed application form signed by a parent.
Birth certificate from the National Population Commission.
Letter of consent from both parents.
Proof of Nigerian citizenship for the parents.
Book a biometric appointment. Schedule an appointment for a date and time to visit your chosen passport office for biometric data capture (fingerprints and photograph).
Attend your appointment. Go to the passport office on your scheduled date with your printed payment slip, acknowledgement slip, and all original supporting documents.
Collect your passport. You will be notified when your passport is ready for collection. Return to the NIS office with a valid form of identification to pick it up.
