In the early 2010s, Davido’s original studio—built by his father, Dr. Deji Adeleke—was indeed considered one of the most technologically advanced in Nigeria. It served as a critical breeding ground for both established and rising stars.

Artists Who Used the Original Studio

Before Davido was a full-time artist, he was a producer and sound engineer. He has confirmed that top stars visited his house to use the facility: 

Wizkid: Recorded several early tracks there.

D’banj: Visited to record during his "Oliver Twist" era.

Naeto C: Recorded their collaboration "Back When" in this studio.

Sauce Kid (Sinzu): Recorded the hit "Carolina" there.

Dami Duro Producers: Key industry figures like Shizzi and Maleek Berry also worked out of this space. 

Artists Davido Brought to the Limelight

Through his "We Rise by Lifting Others" mantra, Davido has formally and informally launched the careers of dozens of artists. As of 2026, his impact covers over 20 notable "boys" (and girls) across different eras of his label.

1. The First Wave (HKN Music)

B-Red & Sina Rambo: Davido’s cousins, whom he promoted heavily in his early videos and singles.

Danagog: An early signee known for songs like "Hakuna Matata." 

2. The DMW Era (2016–2022)

Mayorkun: Discovered after a viral Twitter cover; he became the label's biggest breakout, winning the "Next Rated" award at the Headies.

Peruzzi: Transitioned from a songwriter for the crew to a superstar with hits like "Majesty."

Dremo: A rapper Davido signed early on who gained national recognition for his lyrical skill.

Idowest: Rose to fame with "Shepeteri" before being signed to DMW.

Yonda: Known for his unique vocals and collaborations on label hits like "Aje."

Others: Lil Frosh (briefly), Ayanfe, and DJ Ecool. 

3. The DMW 2.0 / Nine+ Era (2024–2026)

Following a rebranding in 2024, Davido introduced a fresh roster:

Logos Olori: Known for his distinct "Picasso" feature on the Timeless album.

Boi Chase: Signed in early 2025 after a viral cover of "Electricity"; he is currently being positioned as the label's next major star.

Mightyyout & Toyé: New additions to the roster as of 2026. 

4. Limelight via the "Davido Feature"

Beyond his label, Davido has turned niche artists into household names by simply appearing on their songs: 

Olakira: Became a global star after the "Maserati" remix.

Humblesmith: Gained national fame through the "Osinachi" remix.

Ajebo Hustlers: Their song "Barawo" dominated the airwaves after Davido jumped on it.

BoyPee, Hyce & Brown Joel: Their 2024 hit "Ogechi" became a viral anthem after Davido performed it at his wedding and released a remix.

Spyro: His career saw a major commercial boost following the "Billing" remix
