The vast extent of human tongues is deep,
A treasury of terms we freely share,
Where diverse words their quiet secrets keep,
And paint the world in shades beyond compare.
From simple sounds to phrases yet unknown,
Each utterance a bridge, a subtle art,
On language's rich tapestry we've grown,
Conveying thought from mind to mind, heart to heart.
Though counting every single word we use,
In metrics cold might seem a curious quest,
The truer art is in the words we choose,
To bring our deepest feelings to the test.
So let the lexicon in freedom run,
Its power in expression, newly spun.
